IFCA Slalom Youth & Master European Championship 2009

The IFCA Slalom Youth & Master European Championship 2009 will be held at Schönberger Strand/Kiel, Germany from August 11th to 16th 2009 (6 competition days).

The event is held by the IFCA (International Funboard Class Association) in close cooperation with the Choppy Water GmbH and the municipality of Schönberg.

The venue is situated in the north of Germany, close to Kiel. The race course will be situated on the Baltic Sea. Schönberger Strand is well known as a windsurf spot and for its windsurfing competitions especially for the German Windsurf Cup. It is also a famous holiday destination. The pier enables visitors to watch the action on the water close by.

There will be a diverse supporting programme around the races including parties, bands, several catering stands and entertainment for the whole family. Several windsurf brands will present their new equipment and give test possibilties.

The event is open for two divisions: Youth and Masters. A maximum of 64 youth and 64 Masters can register.

There will be a German Windsurf Cup (DWC) straight before the European Championship at the same venue. Like at all German Windsurf Cups competitors from foreign countries are not only allowed to participate but even very welcome. This will give everybody the chance to check out the venue, get used to the conditions, train and tune in their equipment. The German Windsurf Cup is a three discipline series. Interested competitors should not hesitate to bring their Racing (Formula Windsurfing) and Wave-Freestyle equipment as well.
