Best conditions, with wind forces up to seven beaufort, led to a day without breaks for the competitors of the IFCA Slalom Youth & Master European Championships at Schönberger Strand. During the fifth day of the regatta, the surfers completed three slalom eliminations, for the category youth (Under-20) as well as for the master (Over-35) division. The title candidate Bernd Flessner (GER-16, F2, Neil Pryde) from Germany, approaches the Master European title more and more. Today he defended his first position in the overall ranking of the Master division. In the category Youth Maciek Rutkowski (POL-23, Starboard, Maui Sails) from Poland is on top of the overall ranking and on the way to the title.
This morning the category youth started with the final of slalom elimination number eight, which was started the day before. William Alikiagalelei (FRA-540, AHD, Loft) from France won this elimination ahead of Sebastian Kördel (GER-220, Lorch, Neil Pryde) from Germany and Maciek Rutkowski (POL-23, Starboard, Maui Sails) from Poland. During the day two more slalom eliminations of the youth fleet could be completed. On top of the overall ranking is Maciek Rutkowski (POL-23, Starboard, Maui Sails) from Poland. Teade de Jong (NED-777, Mistral, North Sails) from the Netherlands and William Alikiagalelei (FRA-540, AHD, Loft) are following. On position four is Jacek Piasecki (POL-013, Starboard, Neil Pryde) from Poland with a ten points gap. Position five goes to Thomas Gaudiot (FRA-909, Starboard, Gun Sails) from France.
The final day of the IFCA Slalom Youth & Master European Championships promises more exciting slalom eliminations. 5 - 6 Beaufort are forecasted for the final decisions. The price giving of the IFCA Slalom Youth & Master European Championships is scheduled for 16:30. It will take place at the Seebrücke at Schönberger Strand.
